Time for another episode of: SHOT IN BLOGOSPHERE!!!!

The date was set: july 17 2010. The stage was ready: Don Hills. Roach had already warmed up the drum set by playing with the Katie Letts band. Now it was time. Shot went up there and destroyed another hallowed New York Venue. Roach destroyed the drum set in an explosion of rhythmic precision. Besto laid down some suppressing fire with his machine gun like riffs while Hector sniped any onlookers with his pinpoint guitar lasers. Grasebo charged around the stage like a crazed monkey, knocking anyone dumb enough to come close to him with his bass. and Billy led the charge, screaming orders while wearing his French revolution era beret and jacket. I’m sure Don Hills won’t ever want us back after that performance, but Shot’s gonna call her in a couple of weeks and she won’t be able to say no.

so what’s next for Shot you ask? In addition to destroying buildings and rocking, they also like to give something back. So on August 5 they will be playing a benefit show at R Bar. Wait a minute, you say, didn’t they destroy that venue already? what can i say people, some venues never learn. they keep rebuilding it and Shot will be there to destroy it all over again. The benefit is Musicians Against Child Abuse and Juvenile Diabetes and it’s being put together by a good friend of mine De Luca Events Inc. this is a big deal for her so show your support and come out!

Now its time for “Shot goes to the Movies” On this episode, I will be doing a triple review. The first two movies are sort of related, The A-Team and The Losers. I saw A-Team a couple of weeks ago and I loved it. If your a fan of the original show then you’ll love the movie. All the actors played their parts well. Quinton Rampage Jackson as BA Baracus was hysterical and spot on, Sharlto Copley as Murdoch was insanely funny, and Bradley Cooper and Liam Neeson as Face and Hannibal were superb. Great job. It was fun summer action at its finest. The best thing about the movie was the story that was crafted around it. I was expecting mindless action and explosions throughout and, while i wasn’t disappointed in that department, there was a semblance of story going on here that elevated the movie even higher. The Losers was very similar to The A-Team in terms of the plot, highly trained operatives getting blamed for a crime they didn’t commit, are being chased around by authorities and they want revenge on the guy who framed them. It wasn’t as story driven as A-Team, but again if you’re looking for campy jokes, mindless action and things blowing up, you can’t go wrong. Both of these movies get an A from me.

A movie that gets an A++ (Thats really good for you people scoring at home) is Shutter Island. Martin Scorsese’s thriller about an island of violent patients is a movie you’ll want to watch over and over again. I really wanted to hate this movie because of Leonardo Dicaprio but I can’t deny that this is his best work so far. Mark Ruffalo and Sir Ben Kingsley are superb in this as well. This is a movie not to be missed. Ok I’ll stop kissing it’s ass…

well that does it for Shot in Blogosphere. Remember to follow their twitter and facebook pages for updates and show dates. You’ll never know when they’ll be on the prowl…
